When the hospital admitted Ashley’s hysterectomy had been illegal last May, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported in their May 9 article that the Washington Department of Health was planning a further investigation.
Steven Saxe, director of facilities and services licensing for the department said in the article that the department is planning to investigate further to see what actions, if any, may be taken against the hospital or physicians. Physicians could face fines, continuing education, or even removal of their license, but the department would rather work with the hospital to implement actions, rather than imposing punishment, he also said.
What has happened to the investigation?
Has the Washington Department of Health worked with the hospital? Has it lead to any actions? Are they going to announce the results of their investigation?
Why have we never heard about this since? Why haven’t the media checked on the state department on this?
